General Dynamics Co.'s National Steel and Shipbuilding unit won a $7 million modification to a previously awarded U.S. Navy contract for work on its mobile landing platform program, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
The work is expected to be finished in May 2010. The contract is for work with the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C.
Work will be done in San Diego; Arlington, Va.; Franklin Square, N.Y.; Tuscon, Ariz.; Busan, Korea; Wageningen, the Netherlands; and other locations. National Steel and Shipbuilding is based in San Diego.
Shares of Falls Church, Va.-based General Dynamics fell 39 cents to close at $68.20 on Tuesday.
