A federal judge is refusing to dismiss a lawsuit by Donald Trump's casino company over its failed bid for a casino license in Philadelphia three years ago.
U.S. District Judge John Jones issued a ruling this week that Trump officials are calling a victory.
Both the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and the owners of SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia had sought its dismissal.
In the ruling, Jones says Trump's lawyers sufficiently argued that the gaming board awarded licenses in 2006 in a way that unfairly protected in-state business.
The suit cites gaming board concerns that a Trump casino in Philadelphia would divert gamblers to casinos it owned in New Jersey.
Gaming board lawyer Doug Sherman says he believes the gaming board will ultimately win the case.
