Omaha has been named the third-best U.S. city for business because of its slow and steady economic growth and diverse mix of big companies based in the city.

The new list from Dow Jones' MarketWatch Web site named Des Moines, Iowa, the top city for business, and Washington D.C. ranked second.

MarketWatch says Omaha and Des Moines share many of the same attributes because both cities have relatively low unemployment and little economic turmoil.
