An Arizona RV dealership has laid off 51 employees _ about a third of its work force _ but officials say they're gearing up for an expected increase in business next year.
Officials at Beaudry RV say they still have more than 100 employees at their dealerships in Tucson and Chandler.
Beaudry Motor Company CEO Thomas Sylvester says the layoffs couldn't be put off any longer and was part of restructuring that prepares the company for anticipated industry growth in 2010.
At a recent industry conference, University of Michigan economist Richard Curtin predicted a 27 percent increase in RV shipments for next year. In preparation of that, Beaudry RV officials say they have compiled a $7 million increase in new inventory in the last 30 days.
