Auto powertrain manufacturer BorgWarner Inc. said Wednesday that it will supply components for the engine and drivetrain of the Hyundai 2010 Tucson and ix35 models.
The drivetrain consists of the parts that connect the transmission with the driving axles of an automobile.
BorgWarner said its engine and drivetrain technology will help improve fuel efficiency on the Tucson, reduce noise and help the vehicle meet emission standards.
The 2010 Tucson is designed for the U.S. market while the ix35 is a similar model that will be sold in Europe and come equipped with a diesel engine.
Shares of BorgWarner rose 49 cents to close at $32.67.
