Raytheon BBN Technologies, a research and development organization owned by defense contractor Raytheon Co., said Tuesday that it received an $81 million contract from the Army Research Laboratory.
The contract, which has a five-year term, will be used to research network science, the company said.
A group will be formed to research network science that will include more than 30 university and industrial labs. The group, called the ARL Network Science Collaborative Technology Alliance, will be headed by Raytheon BBN Technologies at a research center at the company's Cambridge, Mass., headquarters.
The group will research network science and also be in charge of bringing new technologies to the Defense Department, the company said.
