BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) _ Energen Corp. raised its 2010 profit outlook by 20 cents per share, due mainly to hedging commodities costs, lower depreciation rates and reduced income taxes.

ATLANTA (AP) _ AirTran Airways is saying again that it expects to post record profit this year even as some of its bigger rivals have continued to lose money.

NEW YORK (AP) _ Newspaper publisher Gannett Co. said it is "clearly comfortable" with the high end of its fourth-quarter earnings guidance range and has successfully made it through an unprecedented economic environment in 2009.
