Nebraska's corn harvest is continuing to progress, but limited drying capacity continues to slow things down.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says about 88 percent of the state's corn had been harvested as of Sunday. The state's sorghum harvest is about 87 percent complete.

Farmers are spending time sitting in long lines at grain elevators waiting to deliver their grain. The elevators' grain dryers haven't been able to keep up with the high moisture content of the corn being harvested, and that creates delays.

But farmers in the southeastern third of the state are getting close to finishing their harvests. Most of the crop that remains in the field is in Nebraska's western and northern counties.
