Defense contractor Science Applications International Corp. said Monday it received a contract extension from NASA that could be valued at more than $235 million if all options are exercised.
SAIC said in a statement it will continue to support all NASA centers and provide information technology services to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. SAIC also will support NASA's wide area network and IT security.
The extension has an eight-month base period of performance valued at about $120 million and six one-month options worth $116 million.
SAIC received the initial contract in January 2004.
The company's shares rose 20 cents to $18.04 in trading Monday.
