South Korea's biggest airline, is ordering five of Boeing's new 747-8 jumbo passenger jets.
Korean Air announced the order on Friday. The airline has also ordered five of the freighter version of the plane, which is expected to make its first flight early next year.
The new order would bring Boeing Co.'s 747-8 orders to 32. At list prices it would be worth as much as $1.5 billion, although discounts on jet orders are routine.
Boeing says Korean Air plans to use the plane on flights to the Americas and Europe.
