IntercontinentalExchange Inc., an over-the-counter and futures exchange operator, said Wednesday its November average daily volume rose 24 percent from the same month a year ago.
Average daily volume for its futures markets rose to 1.1 million contracts, from just under 877,000 a year ago.
Year-to-date through Nov. 30, average daily volume across ICE's futures exchanges was up 12 percent compared with the first 11 months of 2008 to more than 1 million contracts.
Total futures volume in November was 21.7 million contracts.
IntercontinentalExchange operates exchanges, trading platforms and clearing houses serving the global markets for agricultural, credit, currency, emissions, energy and equity index markets.
IntercontinentalExchange shares fell $1.19 to finish at $106.62.
