Umpqua Bank on Tuesday said it was accepted as a member of a trade body, enabling it to handle international trade finance for its clients.
Umpqua, based in Roseburg, Ore., said it was accepted as a full member of the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication. The membership makes it possible for the bank to collaborate with banks worldwide.
Umpqua also named Kathy Schueler as senior vice president for foreign exchange.
Schueler previously held the same title at City National Bank. Prior to that she served in a similar capacity at Bank of the West.
Shares in Umpqua Holdings Corp. slipped 9 cents to $11.67 in afternoon trading.
