Loews Corp. said Monday it has named Jacob A. Frenkel to its board of directors.
Frenkel is chairman of the Group of Thirty (G-30), a private, nonprofit group focused on international economic and monetary affairs.
He has previously served as non-executive vice chairman of American International Group Inc., chairman of Merrill Lynch International Inc. and as Governor of the Bank of Israel.
Loews is run by the Tisch family and owns a diversified portfolio of companies including hotels, insurance and energy-related concerns.
Shares of Loews slid 26 cents to $35.16 in after-hours trading. The stock had closed up 42 cents at $35.42.
