Enrollment at Oregon's seven public universities has reached a record high growing nearly 6 percent from last year.
There are 91,582 students enrolled at the state's colleges, the Oregon University System reported Tuesday. That's up 5.8 percent from last year and comes despite rising tuition and trimmed budgets. It's the second straight year enrollment is up by more than 5 percent.
The University of Oregon leads the way with 22,386 students and Oregon State has 21,969 students. Oregon is up 4.1 percent and Oregon State is up 8.1 percent.
The biggest jump in percentage came at Oregon Institute of Technology, up 11.4 percent to 3,297 students. Eastern Oregon University in La Grande saw enrollment increase by nearly 8 percent this fall.
