Legislative leaders from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont have postponed a three-state meeting with FairPoint Communications to discuss the company's bankruptcy proceedings.

Lawmakers, consumer advocates, union leaders and others from the three states had planned to meet with FairPoint representatives in Concord, N.H., on Thursday. FairPoint filed for bankruptcy protection on Oct. 26.

In a joint statement Tuesday, officials from the three states said the meeting has been pushed back until after a judge rules on FairPoint's reorganization plan.

In the meantime, legislative leaders from New Hampshire are going forward with plans to meet with state regulators, the state consumer advocate and FairPoint representatives on Thursday, but without the involvement of Maine and Vermont.
