The conviction of former President Trump is causing some of his critics to show their support. Senate Republican leader Mitch Mcconnall —who rarely has anything good to say about Trump-was quick to say the “charges never should have been brought in the first place”. He also predicted the conviction would be overtrned.Similar sentiments coming from moderate GOP Senator susan Collins, and even Trump’s estranged former VP Mike Pence.  25% of Republican respondents to an NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll conducted before the verdict said they would be more likely to vote for Trump if a jury found him guilty.

Biden campaign steps up LGBT efforts, media advertising

The Biden campaign is stepping up its LGBT messaging during Pride Month. Joe Biden’s re-election team is launching new organizing efforts and media advertising to mobilize LGBT voters. The campaign says it will have a presence at over 200 Pride events in 23 states during June. At the end of the month, the president and first lady will host a fundraising event in New York City. The campaign touts Mr. Biden as “the most-pro-LGBTQ+ president in American history and his record proves that.”

Hate crimes charges are dropped against a Christian in Iowa. 
VERBATIM:  Last Christmas an image of Satan was set up at the State Capitol by the Satanic Temple, prompting Michael Cassidy to enter the building and knock it down.  He was arrested and prosecutors decided to charge him with a hate crime against Satanism, to the surprise of many.  The hate crimes charge, which carries heavier penalties, has now been dropped in return for Cassidy’s decision to plead guilty to a third-degree criminal mischief.
