Jay Sekulow, attorney for President Trump, said President Obama owes the president and the American people an apology for doing nothing about alleged Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election after he received intelligence briefings about it. Sekulow questioned why there is not a special counsel investigating former President Obama for his inaction.
From Wednesday's broadcast of America's Newsroom on the FOX News Channel:
SEKULOW: Well you know I'll give you my reaction as one of the president's attorneys, first. Here's what you've got, so President Obama knows all of these reported activities going on right and does nothing about it, zero. Why does he do nothing about it? He does nothing about it because he thinks Hillary Clinton is gonna be the President of the United States. Surprise, the president is now Donald Trump.
So, now we have a special counsel investigating the so-called Russian probe and the Russian hijacking of the election, the Russian hacking into the election when we know the administration previously had all the information and did nothing about it. So here's my question that I would ask John Podesta and I'd ask anybody else⦠why do we have a special counsel dealing with the Russia hacking when they had that evidence and did nothing?
Why don't we have a special counsel reviewing why President Obama did nothing after he assured the American people â he gets intelligence briefings, but then assures the American people that Russia did not interfere with the election â
