Bernie Sanders responds to the claim that by staying in the race and continuing the Democratic presidential primary contest he is hurting Hillary Clinton's chances in the general election.
"When you look at those [poll] numbers, how can you argue that this primary battle is not in some ways hurting her in a general election?" NBC's Kristen Welker asked the presidential hopeful.
"If we take your assumption and Clinton's supporters assumptions to the logical conclusion, you know what we should do? We should go back to a monarchy and not have any elections at all," Sanders answered.
Sanders called Clinton's rejection of any future debates "insulting" to the people of California.
"She is really insulting the people of the largest state in our country who have a right to hear a vigorous debate of her views. I am disappointed, though not surprised," Sanders said.
