On Friday's Morning Joe, Donald Trump reacted to criticism he is unqualified, "trigger happy," and that he is churning up the "hatred and fear" when he blamed the then-missing Egypt Air flight on terrorism. Thursday morning Trump had tweeted, "Looks like yet another terrorist attack. Airplane departed from Paris. When will we get tough, smart and vigilant? Great hate and sickness!"
In an interview on the MSNBC show this morning, co-host Mika Brzezinski asked Trump to respond to "the concern" that anger may stem from the conclusion he drew the morning after the incident.
"We are being taken advantage of by radical Islamic terrorists and this world is changing. And another couple of planes go down, Mika, and you're going to have a depression worldwide," Trump told her.
"I think the worry, also, is how you will be as president and present your positions and your words and there's some concerns that you might be trigger happy with your words," Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski said to the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.
"Oh really?" Trump said. "I'm the one that didn't want to go into Iraq, Mika."
"I'm even talking about, for example, the tweet that you sent out yesterday morning," Brzezinski responded.
"What's wrong with it? Trump questioned her.
"Some might say," she began.
"Go ahead," Trump encouraged her.
"Some might say it was very much generating hatred. Focusing on the hatred and fear that terrorism brings to the American people," Brzezinski complained.
