JEREMY PETERS, NEW YORK TIMES: I was sitting there in the chamber and I could not take my eyes off [Nancy Pelosi]. Every time the crowd rose for a standing ovation you could tell that she was only doing it out of a sense of obligation. She would sit for a little while and then finally decide, ok it is time, I guess I'd better get up. She would turn around -- you couldn't tell what she was saying to her colleagues but you could tell she was expressing disgust. She was frowning in disapproval. I have never seen -- short of "You Lie!" Joe Wilson at the SOTU, that much animation from someone in a crowd of a speech of that magnitude.
