MAJOR GARRETT: President Obama said last week, Thursday, "make no mistake, my policies are on the ballot." David Axelrod, a friend of this administration, a veteran of this building, said that was a mistake. So, evoking the word mistake a third time, was it?
JOSH EARNEST, WH: I think -- well, I guess the short answer is no. The president made clear that his name is not on the ballot this fall. But, the president does believe there is a clear choice for voters across the country between candidates who are supportive of policies that will benefit the middle class and candidates who are supportive of policies that will benefit those at the top in the hopes that the benefits will trickle down to the middle class. That choice is clear and race and race in state after state.
