A congressional ethics watchdog group wants lawmakers to investigate whether health insurance perks offered to members, senators and staff, violate the gift ban. The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) sent letters to the House and Senate ethics committees on Wednesday calling for the probe, which follows a New York Times report about congressional staff and lawmakers receiving special services to navigate the health care exchanges, more choices of health care plans and the ability to dodge having to join the exchanges at all.
