With most of academia being controlled by liberal-leaning thinkers it is not surprising that many of the nation’s future (and present) leaders bring with them values and principals shaped more by statism than patriotism. When liberals are in charge of companies and industries that have huge influence on the culture it is conceivable that they use their positions to influence candidates and policies that are attractive to them. Google has been accused of being an agent of sorts for the current administration, but with most of the top dogs at the tech giant leaning to the left, is it really so shocking that those people would want to help politicians they admire?
With this in mind, the Heritage Foundation has decided to step in the culture ring in an attempt to wrestle back some influence to the “right” side. The conservative think tank is taking advantage of a speaking opportunity being offered at South by Southwest (SXSW). SXSW is the premier tech and social media event in the country. It attracts not only techies from around the world, but artists and entertainers and has become one of the most popular events in the country over the last decade.
