The three of the hearings on the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett are over. It was another marathon day. And it was the same old nonsense from Senate Democrats. They kept going back to the Kanter case and trying to tie that to voting rights; Kanter wasn’t about voting rights. Again, the Left is going nuts over abortion rights. Once again, they asked about Obamacare. The good news is that support for ACB’s confirmation has gone up. It rose by double-digits, with nearly half the country saying she should be confirmed 48/31. It really hasn’t gone down. It hasn’t collapsed. ACB has not become unpopular. We have the votes. This fight is over.
Heck, on Obamacare, even Sen. Dianne Feinstein was impressed with ACB’s definition on severability. Sen. Dick Durbin was annoying again. The term “sexual preference,” which was discussed yesterday, became another front in the political correctness wars. ACB torched Amy Klobuchar over recusal during the 2020 election.
Pretty much, Democratic senators kept bringing up the late Justice Antonin Scalia, as if ACB will be 100% his clone on the Court. She’s her own person, her own jurist, and quite independent. One thing is clear: ACB is going to be the next justice on the Supreme Court. She ran circles around Democrats. They had nothing.
Take a breather for now. No more marathon hearings. They’re finished. Committee vote is next week. Thanks for reading our live coverage.
Graham said in any other time ACB would get unanimous consent.
Graham says he has "lost sleep" this week. But he thanks the panel, "for allowing us to get through this hearing in a way that is befitting for the Senate."
Blackburn said Dems have used ACB's confirmation to talk about issues they care about because an election is 20 days away.
Greg Gutfeld on ACB: "she's playing chess and they're playing Kerplunk."
As we listen to Sen. Blackburn
Kennedy jokes, who does the laundry in your house?
Truly a highlight.
