Day two is over. There were no real punched delivered by Senate Democrats on the Judiciary Committee. I mean, it was a long day, but smooth sailing. I don’t think we’re heading towards a Brett Kavanaugh circus with this one. It seems pretty clear that a) we have the votes, and b) Democrats really don’t have anything. A good chunk of their attacks that weren’t based in Obamacare were weak sauce. Notorious ACB said she was a gun owner, but that doesn’t matter. She’s been quite a killer regarding the many media narratives hurled against her.

Right off the bat, Sen. Dianne Feinstein tried to get the abortion issue teed off. ACB invoked the Ginsburg rule and rightfully refused to give any inclination on how she would rule on a case that has not yet been argued before her. It’s right that she does this. For all the liberal media’s Ruth Bader Ginsburg coverage, they seem to have forgotten that the late justice was known for this response regarding questions that one could argue would constitute a litmus test. They treated ACB’s answer as news. It’s not. Also, they knew this was going to be her answer. This isn’t the first time this legion of lib reporters has covered a SCOTUS nomination.

As for the attacks, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse had a tin foil hat moment about dark money; Ted Cruz ripped him on this. Sen. Mazie Hirono asked ACB if she ever raped anyone. Sen. Dick Durbin invoked George Floyd in his questioning. Cory Booker was his typical inauthentic and blowhard self.

Sen. Thom Tillis called out the horrific attacks against ACB.

To her credit Judge Barrett had no notes. She was well-prepared. She’s well-qualified. She will be confirmed.

We’ll be back tomorrow.

This!!!!

Katie Pavlich:

This is your regular reminder that Obamacare insurance isn't healthcare. Health insurance is not healthcare.

Yes, it was today when Barrett said "sexual preference"

It already feels like 3 news cycles back.

Same.

Sen. Blackburn: The leftist attacks against you "discourages all women from trying to step forward."

ICYMI: As Democrats were attempting to blame Republicans for confirming a SCOTUS nominee instead of arguing over COVID funding that they have refused to negotiate on, the Speaker of the House absolutely lost it on CNN when Wolf Blitzer challenged her on her refusal to come to the table.

I appreciate that Sen. Blackburn is tearing down Dems' take on women. They assume we should be feminists, anti-man, anti-family, anti-gun, pro-choice.

  • Cortney O'Brien | Oct 13, 2020 7:56 PM est

Yes, Sen. Blackburn!! Reminding Dems that they are the ones who chose to vote no on additional PPP funding and other provisions that would directly help Americans affected by COVID.

"Abortion is not mentioned in the Constitution." - Blackburn

All day Judge Barrett has been putting senators' minds at ease about her dedication to the rule of law.

"At what point in time do you look at the original public meaning?" ACB says there's debate over that...the farther you get away from ratification the dicier it gets.
