Thanks for hanging with us, MAGA lovers! Vice President Mike Pence won this debate. Hands down. He was cool as a cucumber. He was prepared, calm, and utterly lethal. Pence gashed Kamala for 90-mins. Like Tim Kaine, Harris just recycled DNC talking points and could not maneuver when Pence trashed her record.

Once again, Harris refused to answer the question regarding packing the Supreme Court. This is an issue, Democrats. Your refusal to answer gives away the game and the consistent prevarication only exposes that you want to do bit but know it’s deeply unpopular which it is.

Pence trashed Harris on energy, taxes, and a little bit on foreign policy. All Harris could do was try to pathetically prop up Biden on international affairs, despite this man being wrong on every issue in this arena for the past 30 years. She tried to say that Iran’s firework show they hurled at our troops in Iraq was somehow commensurate to us killing their top terrorist, Qasam Soleimani. We have Biden on tape saying he would kill fracking. He supports the Green New Deal, which calls for an end to…fracking. And declaring you’d nix the Trump tax cuts does mean you’re going to kill middle class tax breaks.

She rehashed the ‘Trump never denounced white supremacists’ lie. She was a trainwreck. If she couldn’t remember a DNC attack line, she was a mess. Oh, and she again peddled anti-vaccine nonsense regarding COVID which blew up arguably her strongest segment in this debate.

Harris also threw out the Trump denigrated America’s war dead lie…notice how that story died. And recycled the uncorroborated Russian bounty story on Afghanistan. It was pathetic. Her smirks were just as bad as Tim Kaine in 2016. Pence did well in trashing her counterpoints, defending the Trump-Pence record, and delivering counterpunches.

These VP debates are mostly grounded in the question regarding can this person steer the ship should anything happen to the president. Pence passed that test. Kamala, not so much.

Harris also tried to walk that line between social justice warrior and her history as a top cop who went after the black community. There may be a way to neutralize that issue, but Kamala doesn’t have the political skills…at all.

We’ll be back for the next debate and the Supreme Court nomination hearings for Amy Coney Barrett next week.

Stay tuned. And don’t forget to vote.

Trump campaign reaction to VP debate:

“Vice President Mike Pence made clear tonight that President Trump is the clear choice to continue to rebuild the American economy,.  Vice President Pence exposed Joe Biden’s plan to raise taxes by $4 trillion, strangle the economy with Green New Deal regulations, ban fracking, abolish fossil fuels, and kill millions of jobs in the process. And Vice President Pence made clear that President Trump has stood up to China and protected American jobs, while Biden has spent decades rolling over for the communist Chinese. Vice President Pence eviscerated Biden’s record on foreign policy and his willingness to coddle terrorists and state sponsors of terror. Senator Harris is the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate and it showed, as she continued to push Joe Biden to the left. President Trump built the world’s best economy once and is already doing it a second time.  And as Vice President Pence made clear, President Trump has accomplished more in 47 months than Biden has in 47 years.”

Frank Luntz: Harris came off as arrogant and condescending

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on tonight's Vice Presidential Debate:

"Tonight, Americans saw the proven and principled leadership Vice President Pence has provided as part of the most successful administration in modern history. He highlighted the progress of the Coronavirus taskforce that he leads, touted the significant job growth in all sectors of our economy and historic judicial nominations, and warned of the disastrous ramifications that a Harris-Biden ticket would have on our country.

"Kamala Harris’ record as the most liberal U.S. Senator and her support for policies like banning fracking, raising trillions of dollars in taxes, and eliminating private health insurance show that Joe Biden is in complete lockstep with the far-left’s radical agenda. Her continued refusal to answer basic questions like whether she and Joe Biden support packing the Supreme Court is more proof  that neither of them would serve the best interest of the American people.

"Our country is on a Great American Comeback thanks to President Trump and Vice President Pence’s leadership, and that comeback will continue when voters re-elect the Trump-Pence ticket on November 3rd."

Matt needs a Xanax.

Matt Vespa:

Hey, Breckland or whatever your name is... we hate each other.

There is no lovefest that's going to happen between the parties right now.

Sorry, could you be nice to someone who introduces themselves like "hi, I'm Megan, she/her"

I'd slap them

Pence speaking warmly of the relationship between the late Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Antonin Scalia. They were polar opposites, but still great friends who always respected one another.

she is just so phony.

Pence brings up Ginsburg and Scalia friendship despite being on opposite ends of political spectrum.

Pence really is a great unifier.

Oh I love that response: Don't assume that what you see on the news is synonymous with the American people.

Because it is not.
