Ahead of Tuesday's second presidential debate, First lady Michelle Obama strengthened expectations for President Obama's performance even while defending him from criticism over the last one, saying, "He's not just a candidate; he's still the leader of the free world."

"I know he's going to do well," she told "Extra" in a new interview, when asked about Tuesday night's debate with Mitt Romney.
