If you care more about getting free nine-buck-a-month birth control than you do about fewer jobs, more unemployed, and double-priced gas over four years ago, you might be an Obama voter (and bad at math.)

Russian reset worked! Muslim outreach worked! The One healed the world! Peace everywhere! Just look at our booming economy! Oceans, ice caps, enemies, humanity, they all swoon to his Hope!

September 11 brought us tightly together because the moment of crisis commands human empathy and response. Liberals and conservatives know how to carry a wounded sister.

The years since--of remembering, processing, and deciding how to respond-- drove us apart because the after-calm falls back on personal world view about human and political nature.

Our national debates and sometime bitterness since that day bear witness to the diversity of human understanding.

Imagine what Nixon could have gotten away with, with the press on his side! You don't have to imagine. Look around at America, 2012.

News item: Administration asks Youtube to remove controversial film on Islam

Mr. President, I'm offended. My "religious feelings" are hurt. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, my faith is violated--I'm violated--by the Broadway production "Book of Mormon." Some Mormon friends and I intend to storm the walls of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and replace the DCPA flag with a BYU Football Banner.

You'll have our back, right? Maybe the FBI could release a statement criticizing those who mock the faith of others--especially for something as tawdry and unimportant as commercial profit!

If we kill the Facility Manager, and maybe a janitor or two, and Mormons start rioting in American cities, will you ask Matt and Trey productions to cancel their outrageous, hate-fest? Sure, some extremists will say that's against the First Amendment, but the Constitution was never meant to protect irresponsible speech! Anyway, you can take care of that with an executive order, can't you?

The Middle East is on fire. Our ambassadors are targeted and unprotected. But it's not the One's fault.

Our economy is on fire. But it's not the One's fault. It's the fault of the guy from four years ago, who only had to weather 9/11, the halt of travel and tourism, the dot.com crash, and Clinton's housing-Fannie/Freddie-orgy.

America, I pray you're not that freaking stupid.

The  headline sings the party tune: "Death toll rises as protests rage over Muhammad-mocking video"

Of course. Outrage over an obscure, weeks-old internet film spontaneously erupted coincidentally on September 11th. Peaceful, heartsick locals were spontaneously carrying rocket propelled grenades and launchers.

Gee. Why does the media want this crisis to look like something other than premeditated attacks on the US and its government? Clash with favored narratives, maybe?

At the same time that hateful enemies plotted bloody murder in desert lands...here at home liars in politics and their lapdogs in media declared that reluctance to outlaw co-pays for contraception was a WAR! War on women!

What an unserious mass of malicious buffoons, and the public that believes them.

The president's actions in the Middle East are worse and less forgivable than Jimmy Carter's because he had Carter's experience to learn from. The Shah was not replaced by liberal democracy, but by the ayatollahs and blood and horror. One can only conclude his position is: "I'm Barack Obama and I approve this trajectory."

Sorry, Bibi, no time. Got a Vegas fundraiser and I'm trying to squeeze in a date on Letterman. But, you do know I value you people. Right? I mean, I can count on you?

Imagine—imagine--what the barking pack of hounds would have done to George Bush if he jetted to Vegas (suffering under flood waters, incidentally) for a glitzy fundraiser while American terror casualties were still warm on foreign soil.

But this guy gets canine loyalty with wet licks from a neutered pack. It's like a conspiracy in plain sight. And when you criticize it, they say: "Prove it, wing nut!"

He limply watched Iran’s mullahs crush west-friendly student protesters. He condemned a brutal ally, pushing Egypt into the grip of more brutal theocrats. He launched illegal war against a spent Libyan dictator, dropping another nation in Sharia’s bucket.

The naively touted "Arab spring" darkened fast, raining threats and death on Americans he failed to protect. His embassy condemned the free speech of private citizens who “hurt religious feelings.”

Thankfully, enough is enough. The somnolent media is finally aroused and angry--at Mitt Romney for criticizing the president’s shameful, disastrous performance.

There are many things I would punch George Bush in the nose for if I could. But I do know he loves America. Yes, there is an implied negative assertion there.
