We joke about Joe Biden being braindead. It’s less of a joke and more of a fact now. Ever since the president got the brakes beaten off him in the CNN presidential debate last June, the media is now suddenly devoting lengthy, in-depth pieces about the mental decline and fall of Joe Biden. On day one, his aides noticed the mental degradation but covered it up. They got massive assistance from their allies in the media. However, the stories are now too numerous to ignore the constitutional ramifications, and Speaker Mike Johnson’s latest anecdote should spur a select committee to investigate.

It's not the first time we’ve had these issues. Barack Obama had a machine affix his signature on numerous pieces of legislation, which drew legal questions. Yet, Obama had his mental faculties intact and political skills, which Joe always lacked, but that’s another issue. Speaking with journalist Bari Weiss, Mr. Johnson recounted a classic "who am I" moment involving the president, where he asked Biden why he signed an executive order banning liquefied natural gas exports to Europe last January. The president told the House speaker outright he didn’t remember signing anything of that nature:

The speaker left wondering who was running the country. The ban is there—it’s something Donald Trump is expected to reverse through an executive order. How many other executive orders does Biden not remember signing? Who’s pushing them out? How much of what the Biden presidency passed is legal?

We’re tired of select committees because the January 6 one was a crock and a waste of taxpayer dollars, but this is a different beast. The man who controls the nuclear arsenal can’t remember what he signed. Isn’t this a constitutional crisis of the highest order? And with his White House filled with many far-left acolytes, no doubt some of them conspired to push things that might not have had the president’s approval. The seal of the presidency might have been used (it’s more than likely, to be honest) to pass along the policy, no questions asked, which is why the notion that White House staffers were running the country isn’t off base.

I’m not trying to get into a neo-birther position here—Obama was born in the United States and was eligible to be president, despite some entertaining antics from Trump back in 2012 about showing us the birth certificate. However, the evidence is clear that Biden was never in charge, and it’s prudent that someone investigate whether illegal orders were carried out. It’s ironic since Democrats are obsessed about Trump issuing those to our military when Joe Biden might be guilty of such offenses because he’s senile and his overzealous staff took the reins.

If something comes of this, great. If not, we do have much bigger fish to fry, like securing the border, finishing the wall, deporting criminal illegal aliens, restoring order to the world scene, making the Trump tax cuts permanent, and a host of other issues, not least being the rebuilding of Los Angeles County.

Yet, people can walk and chew gum. The only problem is that the people who seem incapable of that skill are elected lawmakers in Washington.
