Anti-Social Media – CNN

Last October, we witnessed some horrific journalism as several major news outlets incorrectly reported that Israel had bombed a hospital in Gaza, killing 500. Israel did not fire the rocket, it was a Gaza-originated attack on Israel, the hospital was never hit, and hundreds did not perish. Then, as if the shame was not palpable enough, just days later, more reports of Israel bombing a church came out, with hundreds claimed killed in the blast. And then…at daylight, it was learned that church allegedly reduced to rubble was intact and there were not hundreds of fatalities.

In this same category of erroneous reporting, CNN breathlessly details how hundreds of bodies were discovered buried at the Nasser Medical Complex, following the pullout of IDF troops from the complex. A Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson claimed many bodies were found tied up, with some suspected to have been buried alive. CNN details all of this energetically, then eventually it gets around to the truth.

First, the outlet announced it was unable to verify any of the claims made in its headline and introduction. Then deeper in the piece, it states one of its contacts on site confirmed that the bodies had been buried at the location by Palestinians ahead of the Israeli arrival at the hospital. Disgraceful journalism on display.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – NBC NEWS

  • Don't believe all those reports and videos from the scene, just believe HERS!

Antonia Hylton is on the scene at Columbia University. This would be the location where we have seen the calls to eliminate Israel, where they chant for an intifada to take place, and have forcibly confronted Jewish students and prevented them from accessing buildings on campus.

But Hylton is here to deny any of this has taken place. Don't believe your lying eyes and ears, believe her, because she would never take sides in a protest, she claims. She just presents one side of it as being innocent, in an unbiased fashion.

Just to illustrate how desperate her spin is in this effort, we have an antecedent to Jewish students being blocked from campus locations. Maybe Ms. Hylton missed this day in history class?

Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • There is a very noticeable change in the approach to this hatred.

It's fun to look back at a time when the press was deeply concerned about the rise of antisemitism in this country. Just a few years ago, any small example was highlighted as "proof," and the select examples found were held up as examples of how Donald Trump was ushering in a new tide of Jewish intolerance.

Today, there is a stark difference and an abject lack of concern. Colleges are exploding with very direct calls to exterminate Israel, Jewish students are being harassed and attacked, and the press is…taking a distinctly different approach.

The new interpretation is that protesters who want Israel eradicated and are calling for a global intifada are…get this… "anti-war."

We have entered the media insisting these are "peaceful protests," which history tells us means the polar opposite.

According to The New York Times, if you order Papa John's delivery and hold an interpretive dance-off in the commons, that erases all the antisemitic calls to eradicate the Jewish state!

Prose & Contradiction – TAMPA BAY TIMES

When a poll of approval comes out, we are conditioned that if the politician is a Democrat it will impact the coverage. Bad news for the Dem, it likely is not to be covered. Now, if it is a Republican, there are the opposite standards applied, as we see in this example regarding Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Despite having higher favorability in the state with all voters, having the highest favorability with Republicans in the 84% range, and standing as the top individual of all Republican governors, the Tampa Bay Times had to go with the headline that he is in third place with the disapproval numbers.

Race to the Bottom – USA TODAY

So for what – a week now? – we have endured the mentally impacted lectures about how unfair it is that Caitlin Clark's WNBA contract was not as big as NBA players. The economics of her playing in a league that never has turned a profit seems to elude the crisp thinkers in the social activist outrage brigades. Well, Clark signed a hefty contract with Nike to have her own branded basketball shoe, and the company is paying her a huge contract deal, so now all has been worked out, and financial justice has been served!

WRONG!

At USA Today, its resident race grievance peddler Mike Freeman is here to announce that it is a GIGANTIC problem that no black players in the league have their own shoe deal. I'm sure Mr. Freeman has another article on the way to discuss the injustice that so few white players in the NBA have a shoe contract in comparison to the black players with sneaker deals.
