I saw your post at "The Gimp Wonders" blog, about a cure on the way for the atrocious performance of the "junior circuit" blogs over the last few weeks.

I hope there's something that's coming quickly and will be effective. The site performance has been just awful for the last few weeks, I have to tell you.

I have a helluva a time accessing my own blog, posting to or accessing the blogs of others, etc.

that you are replacing JoSue?

Does advocating enforcing our border, with the use of fences and well placed high velocity pieces of metal (mostly in the 7.62 mm or half-inch diameters), constitute advocating violence?

I get a red line under words that the software thinks I spelled incorrectly, but when I right click on the word I don't get a list of suggested spellings. What is InchDeep doing wrong.

TR is at it again on O'Reilly!

How do I moderate comments on my blog. I have troll I want to ban.

DSteech has no room to talk, go to my latest blog Friends not Foes and see that he posted 3 rants, I haven't read them, nor do I intend to. He's still spewing venom, just as he did at Friggles and he seems to do this on weekends late at night. Maybe he's bored or just ill-bred...Who knows? This has been one verbal attack after another since May 8th of 08. I have more as I've kept each copy if you care to read 'filth.' Thank you for any help you can offer.

I should not have to block MY blog to keep such vile comments off of my site! Plus he goes to other blogs and posts his garbage aimed at me. Where is the moderation?

What a bunch of tattletales here. My request is that we be allowed to use any language that the article authors use. There are some words that don't seem to pass the filters but are in the content of the articles. Thank you. CVN65

I would also suggest that "the media is the message" and that while PEOPLE are due a certain, if limited, amount of "common courtesy" (Chris stresses that concept by repetition),
IDEAS are not. And I would suggest it is IDEAS and NOT People that are the coinage of most of the exchange on Town Hall, particularly the comment threads. We don’t actually know a dang thing about each other here on TH EXCEPT what the IDEAS we present SAY!
It may lack “courtesy” to tell a person being stupid that he is being stupid, however true it may be. Some IDEAS, however, can ONLY be TRUTHFULLY engaged by calling Stupidity what it IS! That is not a lack of courtesy, that is terminological exactitude.

I would also point out that Rule 4, if taken seriously would CENSOR all discussion of what a 21st Century American Revolution would look like! If ALL the means of ACHIEVING Liberty CANNOT even be discussed, then of what ultimate value is a “Liberty Hall”? If your basic inalienable right to talk a little treason is disallowed, what really is the value of Town Hall in the end? It censors the very Constitutional Rights it is, one would think, meant to uphold.
Finally I leave you with this thought. “Common courtesy” has been one of the guiding principles that have brought us to the current state of Politics in this Republic.
If you LIKE where we are I suppose “courtesy” has produced the result you intended.
I (bold underlined, italic for emphasis) do NOT like standing on the brink of the Socialist Abyss holding my breath for the Lurch Over and the Fall to the Death of the Republic.

Thus I am more inclined to say “courtesy be (insert euphemism of your choice to avoid censorship or “moderation”) I ain’t allowing WRONG ideas to go rhetorically unpunished!

Your request really got me thinking about this, Chris, so I am pressed to leave you with a final thought. I am committed to the Principle that censorship of terms IS censorship of ideas and, in the end, a concession of the argument. A kind of surrender to a kind of tyranny with ramifications far beyond the courtesies of polite conversation.
To put it another way, when one begins to value courtesy over Truth in semantics and Justice in argument, one is sacrificing the Greater for the Lesser to the destruction of all three!
For you see, in the end, Courtesy can only Survive, where Truth and Justice hold sway.
