Having the popular kids pay the nerds wouldn't work at all. I went to my twentieth high school reunion in 1988 and the former popular kids were a bunch of low-income losers and the former nerds were earning big bucks. The girls I used to yearn for were vulgar and badly dressed and some of the former wallflowers had bloomed into real amazing women, sharp and accomplished.The 'pops' were at the peak of their existence in High School, the Nerds were just getting started. What's happening now is that the nerds are paying taxes to the slobs in the name of fairness.

It is Photoshoping. I'm now doing some relearning of Illustrator so expect to see some more illustrative stuff. All my training as an animator was in drawing but that's become a bit obsolete.

Notice how the "apology" bill, a necessary step toward reparations, included "Jim Crow". This effectively blocks the need for actual slave connections. Since "Jim Crow" existed into my lifetime.

It also has the benefit of including people like Obama who "felt" the effects of discrimination. Subtle, but effective. I'm not sure anyone paid any attention to that little add-on.

Why arent the Repubs going for this free gift that Obama is giving them? Reparations would be punishing white people for being white. Not a single one of my grandparents arrived in this country before 1900. They didn't speak English and lived in ethnic neighborhoods. They were in no way involved in any of the discrimination that was going on. Meanwhile there were free blacks and Indians who owned slaves and had sharecroppers working for them after the Civil War. One national ad about Reparations would sink Obama permanently. Those 40% drubbings by the loathsome Mrs. Clinton would be repeated.

I think the apology bill is just priming the pump by getting official congressional recognition for slavery and discrimination.

I wouldn't look for anybody to even talk about it during the campaign. The dems in congress are working overtime to stall any meaningful legislation until after the elections.

If they win as big as they hope in November, we can count on this issue being revisited in the new congress with a host of other attacks on liberty.

The importance of adding "Jim Crow" to the bill is based on the fact that "Jim Crow" laws weren't overturned until the 1964 Civil Rights Act. So when your ancestors got here is not the issue.

Then again, maybe I'm just being paranoid. I must work on trusting the government more.

I'm blushing. Thank you. It really makes me glad when people write things like that. The reason I do this blog is because I can't talk politics around my house because my wife and I tend to get in fights that get out of control. Its weird, we've been married thirty years and we get along pretty well but when politics raises it's ugly head it goes nuclear real fast. So I have a place where I can say what I want without it being a big deal. Its nice to have blog friends too. I really like a lot of the people that comment. its nice to go to other people's sites. It really is a community in these scary times.

You better be laying in a stock of Orville Redenbacher right now! The Dem Convention is only a couple of weeks off. It has the potential to be a real disaster for them.
