Secular societies really don't work to well, and the morals that are learned through religion have better effects on a whole, rather than those without religion. The U.S.S.R. comes up to mind. Under the Soviet Union's cult of militant atheism all religions were suppressed, and Islam was certainly no exception. I wonder what our founders would say to the unending attack on Christianity these days?

Dear Eric: Every day I get up (and I can count my blessings at being able to accomplish that) I am cheered anew by checking in with friends like you via TH. Yes, the USSR is a grand example of a godless government. China is a pretty close second. And I read that Vietnam is hunting down Montagnard Christians like dogs. (They eat dogs. You bet God is going to help us. He does every day, even when we err by thinking He has let us down or abandoned us. In my life I am dealing with a lot of concerns. We all are. In fact, God promises tribulation, but gives us many assurances: "Let not your heart be troubled."
