Hi Greg,

I love your comments on those articles! Yeah, all the liberals can do in a debate over Rush's comments (or Ann Coulter's) is say they are big fat mean liars.

It's a shame that you don't have to be honest in journalism these days. You just need a radical left-wing affinity.

I often listen to Rush and he never comes across as MEAN or CRUEL or HATEFUL! It's just that those who disagree are offended when he exposes them for what they are.

rush

I listen to Rush some, too. But before I tuned in, I remember a controversial incident where he questioned the legitamacy or severity of Michael J. Fox's Parkinson tremors. I don't remember the details, but I do remember thinking it was a "jerkish" thing to say.

Michael J Fox

MJ Fox admitted to easing back on his meds to exagerate his actual condition before an interview. He was also misrepresenting the case for stem cell research by saying that stem cells are stem cells, without clarifying that adult stem cells (which don't require the destruction of a human life) have resulted in EVERY practical treatment EVER discovered through stem cell research.

He was used a a pawn by those who advocate abortion on demand, and seek to justify it through the harvesting of human embryos ostensibly for research.

Rush is kind, articulate, extremely bright and on the right side of every moral issue of our time.

Ann

Ann Coulter is just plain funny. She effortlessly flattens the kooks with every keystroke.

almost forgot

Greg,
I'm glad we have "Operation Chaos" operatives across the pond. Thanks

Thanks for the comments

I thought I had been abandoned.

I'm a bit of a rant-a-rooney at times, but luckily it doesn't wreck my blogging.

The 3 pints I have had of Wells Banana Bread beer tonight have helped:

http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/drinks/wells-banana-bread-beer/

(If you ever visit the UK, get yourself into Morrisons or Tescos supermarkets and buy some of this. It's light enough for a lager drinker, but it has a nutty taste and just a hint of banana).

As for Rush and Ann ...

I know they can be abrasive at times.
But I understand what they are up to.

I have been on plenty of blogs where I have sought some kind of middle ground with a liberal (after they have sued for peace), and have subsequently been eaten alive.

Or in the workplace.

I spend most of my time trying to establish ground truth (or defending ground truth from demagogues).

It's rare that I actually get towards an actual debate involving different worldviews and
economic outlooks.

I'm sure there are demagogues on the right as well ... but here's my secret weapon:

I used to be a lefty. And I spent most of my time defending ground truth when confronted by demagogic lefties ....

Hangover - this morning

Not too bad

Is this how it is?

US Elections: Republicans fear John McCain defeat against Barack Obama

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/uselection2008/1 947041/US-elections-Republicans-fear-John-McCain-defeat-aga inst-Barack-Obama.html

I thought Obama had alienated a number of voters over his choice of pastor.

I also thought Obama was a left-winger (in contrast to Hillary positioning herself as a centre-lefty) and as a consquence could not secure any cross-over voters.

I saw John McCain (briefly) on the Daily Show (we get that on UK digital TV) and he seemed to make a good appearance.

Any comments?

As for a pint...

I am nearly 6 years sober. Never been happier. I replaced "spirits" with Spirit. God bless you, Tony Blair, Your 2 impressive princes and Long Live the Queen.

Thanks for the blessings ... they are returned.

Greg

I thoroughly enjoyed your sensible, intelligent ripostes to the drivel you encountered!
I have observed that you are absolutely correct..most liberals don't know how to debate the points. Their rantings are always ad hominum.
It is a pleasure to read someone who understands exactly what Rush and Ann are up to.
I laugh at Ann and then wonder at people who miss the irony and the exaggeration.
Keep up the good work!! :-)

Greg

Do you believe the sheer idiocy of Paul McCartney? This guy has the nerve to call other people eco-criminals while he makes a carbon footprint the size of Africa accepting a FREE $200k hybrid LIMO. I had thought that you guys across the pond had starting getting the green out of your systems?

Sgt Relic

But it gets worse:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/1951848/Paul-McCartney-'hor rified'-as-his-eco-car-is-flown-7,000-miles-from-Japan.html

I bet he is horrified. According to the article, this is the equivalent to driving the car round the world 6 times.

That's a lot of driving. Looks like he has already used up his carbon footprint. He might as well have bought a huge SUV, sent by ship, and be done with it.

Greg

Greg, lets compare that carbon-trosity scam to China for a minute. They made the one-child policy. Then anyone having more pays the fine. I bet many Chinese opted to pay the fine. So carbon footprints can be...well, as large as one can afford. Ah ha ha.
