Why Be Against More "Fairness Doctrine?" It Already Works So Well!

I think your article was very good but it is missing the real reason why the NY times excluded John McCain's Op-Ed piece.

I agree they did it because they favor Obama, yes it was done because they lean left, and it gets them publicity.

what they want and need at this time are two things, more liberals who will gravitate toward them and increase sales a small bit, and because they want to help bait conservatives into asking for the Fairness Doctrine.

After reading many blogs and watching a great deal of news about the story, people are taking the bait hook line and sinker while missing the subtle tactics being used by the left.

What we should do is point out the hypocrisy yes, but then publish conservative Op-Ed pieces via our own outlets and THEN put the left on notice, if the Fairness doctrine passes, we will be ready to "go to war" and start demanding equal time on PBS, Oprah Winfrey's network of media outlets, MSNBC's "Screwball", "Meltdown", in the LA times, NY Times, Newsweek, Air America, on Huffington Post, Daily Kos, etc.

When it comes to the "Fairness doctrine" liberals want to destroy our opinions and voices because they are not tolerant of them.

As conservatives we need to actively be on the attack in reference to the Fairness Doctrine and have a game plan in case liberals bring it back.

I have already discussed one such idea with a few Bloggers... if we can all agree on targeting a specific liberal site and cross post 1 Blog per day from every conservative Blogger, the left would soon grasp that we are a force to be taken seriously.

The Marxists and socialist squirrels on the left need to understand the words "don't Tread On Me!"

Well put. Another problem is that the mainstream media does not feel they are extreme and does not feel they need to be balanced. Only Talk Radio is extreme in their eyes, because only the right is extreme. The Left is not extreme. The mainstream media is so arrogant, they see themselves as the "good old common sense that everyone ought to have" Therefore, they have no intention of applying the Fairness Doctrine toward themselves.

Agreed. The "mainstream" is not "mainstream" at all, they are left, end of story.
