Mitt Merciless To Sexual Predators

Log Cabin Republicans say....

''....To be fair, most Mr. Romney’s quotes – “I believe that abortion should be safe and legal in this country,’’ and, “I believe that since Roe v. Wade has been the law for 20 years that we should sustain and support it” – come from his 1994 Senate race. And Kevin Madden, a Romney spokesman, has responded with a list of various conservative moves and statements by Mr. Romney, though most of those are from within the last two or three years.
Even so, a fight with a gay group may not be such a bad thing for Mr. Romney. Even those conservatives who will buy into the flip-flop claim may take heart that he has “flip flopped’’ to their way of seeing things.''....

MERCY FOR SEXUAL PREDATORS?

Who decides? The judges, prosecutors and defendants' attorneys are doing a fine job of meting out mercy after plea bargains distill the crime down to some minor misdemeanor.

This writer happens to agree with you. There should be no second chances for a child predator or any other predator, for that matter. With reference to child predators, however, there is the matter of the victim, who should be given every right to participate, however confidentially, in the decision as to whether some predator deserves mercy of any kind.

In the event the victim is too young to participate in such discussions, there should be an advocate looking out only for her (or his) well-being.

Convicted child predators should either be imprisoned for life or given the death sentence. There is no "rehabilitation" for any of these cretins, no matter how much some psycho psychotherapist may shout or attempt to reason to the contrary.

It is my opinion that offenders such as child rapists or other child predators attend "rehab" sessions for two reasons: (1) they are forced to attend under some plea agreement; or (2) they are highly entertained and aroused by stories of others' "conquests" as well as by the retelling and reliving of their own. That is an opinion I have developed through thinking about the matter for a number of years; it is not one heard of in any other medium.

Incidentally, I came upon this blog entry by reading one of your "What's Hot" entries for today relating to Mitt Romney.

My Opinion

Convicted child predators (whose guilt is proveable beyond a reasonable doubt) deserve, and should be given, only one punishment: Death.

I am a Christian; but these criminals have gone far beyond any human mercy. To prey on society's most vulnerable members deserves the "ultimate" penalty.
