Is Biden More Popular Than Obama?

Hard to say, but I doubt it.

The area is generally more republican however, NY23 is the product of redistricting and the seat was held by a democrat Michael R. MuNulty from 1988 until the 1993 surge of conservatism throughout congressional districts everywhere. In fact Dems controlled politics in the area as far back as the 1930's and into the 1970's. It's just not true that this was a staunch republican stronghold. You've got to remember how left NY politics really is, Scozzafava would be a radical leftie in almost any other state save New Jersey, California, Oregon or Minnesota.

Seems to me more likely that loyalists to Scozzafava voted according to her endorsement of Owens, combined with the fact that Hoffman was a virtual unknown who received short shrift from the RNC and GOP heavyweights. If ya look at the numbers, a guy with zero personality/appeal having to run as the third line candidate against a bigger money candidate that stabbed her own party in the back, ya'd have to say he did remarkably well, the race was razor close most of the way. This was an interim seat, I predict a conservative republican candidate in 2010 will clean their clocks.

On the tongue in cheek scale however,

I'd definitely vote for Biden over Obama. Biden's just a bumbling moron, while Obama is actually dangerous.

Good Points

I wasn't trying to make a serious point with that post. It was more of a cheap shot at Obama than anything. Like the post said, it was meant to be tongue in cheek.

I fully agree with your second post.
