Culture of Dependency in the USSA

In general, people do what is in their best interests when they choose how to allocate resources. (read Smith, Hayek, Friedman, etc.)

As the government seizes more control of the resources, it (and particularly, the humans makning the decisions--the majority in Congress at the moment) will do with those resources what serves its (their) own interests. Creating a significant voting block of dependents is in the interest of those in power now, and they are doing it.

Excwllent post. One factor that May mitigate Liberals ability to institute this culture of dependency is the culture of incompetence thay are also creating! Obama in office 3 weeks and already needing to remind folks HE WON. as I wrote in a Post if ya have to remind people you won you are in trouble, Pelosi and Reid seem poised to keep obama in his place. THEY seem unwilling to share power with Obama. This could cause major problems in putting their agenda through. ALSO, they have woke up Conservatives who are now willing to fight again after our horrendus losses in Nov.
