Well said.
I absolutely agree, and on a couple of other levels, too.
I rarely listen to Limbaugh, or frankly much other talk radio anymore. But I think this whole "Operation Chaos" or whatever he calls it, is simply a face-saving device on his part.
I think (pure speculation on my part, I admit) that when McCain still had competition for the GOP nod, Limbaugh was very anti-McCain (like someone else I can think of) and was at that time speaking his true sentiments.
But now that McCain's the nominee -- let's face it, it's all over but the shouting -- Limbaugh doesn't have the same courage of convictions that Coulter has, and this is his way of justifying the fact that from here on out, he's going to be backing McCain, just like every other GOP talking head. "Hey, that was my plan all along", he'll say if he hasn't been already.
So... everything he was saying a couple months ago about McCain not being conservative, etc..... all a big scheme to disrupt the Dems.
What a load of crap.
Ppppfffffttttt.

You ought to listen to Limbaugh before making those accusations. And you can't "get him" in one afternoon. It takes quite a bit of time of listening to understand what he's doing and what he's getting at. He's not a McCain supporter.
This topic AGAIN Sheila? Seriously.
Also: learn to LAUGH. It's funny. What Rush is doing is Funny. Hahahaha. Try it.

Well, SC
As I wrote, I don't listen to Limbaugh or pretty much anyone else.
I've written that the dismal state of this election has pretty much taken away any interest I have in the subject, and is one of the reasons I've stopped writing new essays at my own blog.
When you don't have a bet down, the race itself isn't very interesting.
However, over the years I've listened to him quite a bit from time to time; enough that I do "get" him.
I'll stick by my assessment. He may not like McCain, but I have little doubt he'll end up supporting him in the election.
That's where Sheila and I disagree. She lost respect for Coulter. When Limbaugh backs McCain, that's when I'll lose respect for HIM.

I agree completely, it is a losing proposition to act like the left. Such as touting Globull Warming and refusing to consider exploiting ANWR.
OK, file that one under "cheap shot".
Limbaugh and Coulter are just trying to cope with a bad outcome, just like the rest of us. The war is rapidly receding behind the economy as the big issue in the minds of the voters.
Three candidates and not a sound economic plan among them. Either way it's going to be train wreck. But SC's right. You've got to be able to find the humor in all this. The sight of Hillary twisting in the wind warms my cynical heart. HaHaHa!

Good for the goose, Sheila
Who do you think made McCain the GOP candidate? "Independants" and Dems who voted in the open GOP primaries, coupled with the idiocy of "winner-take-all", a system I've condemned since I started blogging.
So, I'm sorry, IMO you have nothing to complain about there.

I only agree in that the Republican'ts (whenever they get into trouble) *CLAIM* that "Well the Dems do it too (thereby forgetting the old saying, like two wrongs don't make a right, for instance. I guess the DittoHeads actually believe that everything changed after 9/11.)

I disagree...:)this is too serious a matter...Rush is funniest when he's showing the falacies of the left, IMO, not adopting their ways.
As to the candidates, Ob or HIll will be a trainreck. Mc isn't 100% conservative, but he is conservative on all matters that are critical to the country.
As to the economy...the president has people who advise in this regard...and we need a congress who will do what Newt did, we need a strong conservative majority.
If we allow the dems to win the WH and have a majority you will get your train reck ala Carter, only worse.

what Rush is doing, I don't hear him much because of his time slot. But I do know there is serious reason for concern. I just finished reading Mark Steyns book America Alone. Much of what he says echoes exactly how I feel, and I will eventually post an analysis of that book, because I think when you get to the end of it, its very important that you understand its message and what to do about it. The sad thing is that what we have running for President this year is three people who are clueless:

Our Choices:
A man who is delusional enough to think that "what the world needs now is love sweet love" and if we simply leave Iraq, the world will back us on Afghanistan, and we will all live happily together. Meanwhile, he wants to cast America in the image of the moral vacuum of Western Europe and simultaneously push Black Liberation Theology through his militant wife, hastening the Balkanization of this country.
A woman with an obsession for power and a narcisistic arrogance that after all these years of marriage to a loser, she is "owed" the Presidency. She has no policy other than to gain power and prestige, what she will actually do with it is a bit of a mystery since she has no real moral compass, just a self absorbed desire for power.
A man with some of the same characteristics of the woman above, some of the same arrogance and feeling of being due the Presidency, a man who shows some conservative tendencies, but is willing to part with many of them for personal prestige or power, a man who reads and believes many of his own press clippings when they are good, but gets sulky when they are bad, and finally a man who seems to get the implacable nature of militant Islam, yet does not realize that the type of calls for international unity and multinational cooperation, for climate change legislation from a world body, and a new league of Democracies, presumes that the "Democracies" of Europe are not irrevocably committed to anti-Americanism to placate their growing Muslim minorities.

Rush is claiming credit for "operation chaos" telling repubs to register and vote dem in key primaries...for Hill... to keep her in the game, and keep the "chaos" going in the dem campaign all the way to the convention...as if they couldn't do themselves in by showing their true colors without any help...
The problem is it will come back to bite us because I heard if you are registered dem you can't vote for your representative in the primary election...talk about bad news! We need a majority back in the House and Senate.
You are right about the dangers as spelled out by Mark Stein's book...people aren't paying attention.

Wil...as to the candidates
I agree, with one exception on Mc... the GOP thinks we need to "go to the middle" after the primaries, to win the General. That makes me think Mc is just doing that...and wouldn't totally go for those ideas 100% as president...of course I don't agree with that approach.
(btw, I meant the General election when talking about not being able to vote for our reps).
Sorry, my mistake.

My thought is that if Hill or Ob win the presidency, they would have all the old "crooks" back in cabinet positions that we saw during the Slick and Hill years...whereas Mc would have some great choices of strong conservatives to choose from...so that would be a big difference IMO, plus all the areas of concern that he would be a strong conservative, to me would make me more positive about his presidency.

Where is it in stone that if we get Hill the nomination, we win?
I'm sorry if I sound repetitive with this post. This just seems like a place where I can vent.
I think Rush has blown it this entire campaign. NOBODY was good enough!
He couldn't find a good thing to say about any of our candidates. They just weren't Reagan enough! He basically helped get McCain, as far as I'm concerned.
After beating up on all of them he now has to resort to this ridiculous joke of a "plan", as though he's the guy holding the cards...it's pittiful. and I was one of Rushes biggest fans! I bet he's lost a lot of listeners.
But we can agree to disagree...:) I've done that before here at TH!

You're engaging in straw man argumentation, and you're attempting to project your party's image upon my party (if I'm a Democrat. At last recollection I declared that I'm an independent because Nancy Pelosi took impeachment off the table. In fact, I think she should be impeached for not impeaching Bush.)
