War Powers of the President and Congress Enumerated

I heard talk last Sunday about Congress trying to pass a bill on this capping of troops. This would be unconstitutional and would go to the Supreme Court where it would be struck down.
Now, I heard today the the dims are going to try to pass a resolution re-stating what power they gave to the President to go to war in Iraq.
I believe this would be struck down too. The legislative branch of government is trying desperately to usurp the President's power. I'm not sure they can get away with this.
It's frightening to say the least.

Yes it is
And I am not at all sanguine that the Supreme Court would not uphold their attempt. It will depend on how a couple of 'center' Justices interpret things.
OTOH, as it would likely be tied to the War Powers resolution that also will finally be reviewed by the Court. And perhaps struck down.
On the third (or gripping) hand, as soon as the Supreme Anointed One completes her Coronation, the provision will be quietly removed (if upheld)...they won't hamstring their Ruler you know...

It's hard to even contemplate Hillary stripping the Constitution. But, I imagine she could do it with appointments of "liberal activist" judges.
I don't think she will be POTUS. It's just a feeling I've got. There is so much baggage with this woman that even the dims don't particularly want her. You see how Hollyweird is turning against her. I don't really think independents would vote for her.
Maybe I'm just dreaming, but I still think too much stands in her way.
Now, with Obama, I think his chance are greater if she doesn't knock him off first. He is not the innocent he has tried to make himself out to be.
Plus his wife seems to be really a tough cookie, and I wouldn't doubt that woman would take on Hillary.
But, the one thought I have is that she may become POTUS by default because conservatives will vote for perhaps a third party candidate which in essence is throwing your vote away in my opinion. At least for now.
I will vote for any repub candidate in order not to throw my vote away and allow this woman to be POTUS by default.

Agree for now
on the Any Repub to stop the Coronation of the Supreme Anointed One.
As to the Election: I am extremely concerned over the Electoral College vote in Dec. Particularly those Electors who are not constrained to vote with the popular vote. And perhaps with those who are. The election of 08 is likely to be the dirtiest on record and Election Results are highly likely to be 'fudged' to meet the pre-election polls, particularly those with no paper record of the actual votes cast.
Given the history of Repubs NOT challenging results, they will let it slide as well. Which is one of the things that the Supreme Anointed One is counting on.
And it will be the last free election in the history of the Republic...
I have no doubt whatsoever that She will declare the 22nd Amendment Unconstitutional and will Reign as long as she can...

Reign forever huh? She may think she. I've no doubt either that elections will be rigged. I noticed as I'm sure many others did that when the dims won in 06 there wasn't any cry and hue over "rigged" or "stolen" votes.

Nope narry a whisper of one
with the exception of Lieberman-Lamont up in Connecticut - and that was a faint, blog-driven one.
As I mentioned, the real fight will be over Electoral College votes in Dec 08...

The Problem Is Not In Washington
The problem is in the people who vote the dirtbags in. The people who believe they will get "More for Less" because the dirtbags promised them more welfare and higher minimum wages, low cost housing and free cheese.
As long as the dirtbags have these folks for a vote base they will be starting the race on the 50 yard line.

True enough
But there are other factors that must be considered as well:
The Union grip on many politicians;
The Marxist philosophy of Higher Education (particularly schools of education);
The Determined effort of the Left to eradicate traditional American Values;
The determined effort of the NEA to produce, not citizens, but 'workers' (who can't read, cypher, or think);
I could go on, but I think the point is clear, is it not?
Ultimately, it is the responsibility of 'Citizens' to elect their 'representatives' responsibly. But given that the 'electorate' has been both diluted (unlimited franchise for warm bodies over 18) and taught endlessly of their 'rights' is it any wonder that the drones keep electing Masters...

:D That is me when I picture the Disney character of The Incredibles as You!! I hope you are hangin in wherever you might be...have not seen you, Sawgunner, LD, Icedog,(or Monkey-girl!!) in a long while.
I saw this post and I had to comment. There was this poster Ben(underlined) who had his blog on the Constitution...We had quite a discussion about the number of Executive orders tha Bush has signed...he says Bush is changing laws etc...and I disagreed. The War Powers Act is something I used in debate. You know, the control for each branch, etc...I agree with what you have written all the way...if the scope of any powers of the President are to be expanded and absolutely supported in awartime situation,we were fukked a long timne ago...but I still refuse to give up and as I say-I will fight to the death for this Country to remain the Greatest Nation. When you get back, check my blog out...it's new. Safe journey, oh evil contractor!
