Well said Grampus. That is exactly it. I'm still scratching my head about some Dems in my family. They seem to be living in a mental timewarp, not realizing it is 2006, not 1956 anymore. Their party has left them.

The Democrats have always been the populist party, and that has never changed. I've told Dems if they were to become socially conservative but stay economically liberal (minimum wage, price controls, etc.) they'd win elections.
