Yup, slavery is giving your efforts to another person. What is the difference between laboring in a cotton field, and laboring (I assume you are a medical doctor...) in a hospital only to turn your check (the efforts of your labor) over to another. It is different in magnitude, but not in kind from slavery.
I happen to be a nurse, and have noticed many doctors tend to be quite liberal, especially the young new ones fresh out of university indoctrination. Maybe you could communicate with a few in your tax bracket and see if the confiscatory taxes helps change a few minds. Taxes (social security in my case) has been a good tool for me to help sway others...
