Another Win Undermined

Terrorists

Of course, it was Bush's fault. World War I and World War II were his fault. The attack on the marine barracks in Beirut was his fault.
It is very bad to call a red alert when a plot to blow up U.S. planes over the Atlantic is discovered. Every good liberal and anti-Bush and anti-U.S. citizen knows that. How many other plots are underway that were not uncovered. Maybe now we can start profiling at airports. After all, there weren't any white grandmothers or any white elementary school age children involved.
All the hijackers and would-be hijackers have been young Muslim men (either Arab or Pakistani) except for the would-be shoe bomber, Reid, and he looked like one.

Blame the victim

Most of us are all familiar with the standard MO of your average serial domestic abuser. Invariably they will blame the victim. No matter how horrific, how unconscionable the abuse, their mentality does not permit anything beyond a nominal (if any) acknowledgment of wrongdoing, the lion's share of the blame is laid at the feet of the person they're choking, beating, or worse. That is bad enough, but where it begins to take a really nasty turn is when the victim begins to participate in the abuser's shame-based propaganda, and assumes the guilt heaped upon them. Any psychologist worth their salt can recognize this dynamic, yet few seem to recognize that this is precisely what is happening to us on a national level. The Islamofascists whine about oppressive American or Israeli foreign policy as they systematically murder, maim, destroy and oppress, as if their behavior is thereby justified, and their leftist enablers in the various media outlets and our own illustrious "leaders" whine with them, as they invent new hidden plots, find devious schemes that we (the victim) are engaging in in order to divert attention from the real enemy, who of course, as we all know is the Bush administration. If only the Bushies would play nice, the Osama's of the world wouldn't be forced to be so bad! I'm sure the Clintons et al are ecstatic that this deception has taken hold, thus diverting attention from the real problem, namely years of insane foreign policy (most, but not all of it theirs) that have actually enabled and emboldened the real abusers. You don't stop abuse by enabling and agreeing with the abuser. You only stop it by confronting it. FDR and Truman must be spinning in their graves...
