What's The Big Deal With Guns?

Your little woman's intro to guns

Dave, how attached are you to the weapons you own? Do you see keeping them ten, twenty, thirty years, or do you find yourself getting tired of them after four or five and trading them in for new ones? I ask, because I've only owned one weapon for forty years, and I wouldn't give it away or sell it for the world.

Chuck

Due to certain necessities I have in the past sold some of my guns, much to my regret. It cost 2-3 times what I originally paid to replace them. I don't get tired of them so I don't sell them. I intend to keep them until such time as I am no longer able to really appreciate them.

I am extremely attached to them for several reasons. Some are engraved and extremely attractive. Some took time to find to add to my collection. Some I built myself.

Of the dozens I own I only consider a hand full of them to be weapons. Certainly they are all firearms but many have never been fired and never will be fired. I admire them because of the ingenuity of design, history they represent or some other quality they possess.

They also represent to me the the liberty of free people. They represent my ability to defend myself from attack from criminals or tyranny.

Thanks for your comments. Without reader comments one wonders if anyone reads my narratives.
