Would Big3 Failure Lead to Depression?

Hourly cost for Toyota, Honda, etc, is

about half of GM's $72/hr/employee. Management is at fault to the extent that they honor self destructive labor contracts. Labor Unions, relying on their propensity for murder, extortion and strikes; bear most of the blame and should be "rewarded" in an appropriate manner.

Depression, No. Recovery plan, yes!

.

either way, I see a possible depression

The big 3 won't disappear regardless.

It may become the big 2, but if the automakers were allowed to file chapter 11, they would be able to renegotiate labor contracts, and the UAW wouldn't have a choice but go along or be replaced.

That's what scares the dems more than anything, they know they owe the unions their jobs, so they will do whatever it takes to protect the UAW.

They don't fear an end of the US auto industry, they fear the end of the UAW.

Great Post!
