Having seen enough "gangster" movies (including the Cagney movies like "White Heat") Gunny, my above reference should be enough to indicate why Feinstein "backed" down. Feinstein doesn't want a "Hoffa" contract placed on her by the White House.

Therein lies our problem. We now have a group controlling the US government that is no different than "The Mob", "Organized Labor", or the KGB. If the 2010 elections don't slap them down to size, this country is in for a world of hurt.
