Revelation 20 and the Comfort of the Church – Millennial Reign

Completeness…

Yes! Mr. WWM, I am aware of what year it is.

Would you consider that a spiritual being like Satan is not bound by a literal chain? Perhaps the chain is symbolic. So in a passage that makes use of symbols, why would the number 1000 be taken literally? Perhaps this time period is symbolic also?

It is symbolic and the symbol is intended for the believer’s encouragement and comfort. When I read of the 1000 years I hear Christ in John 6 and John 10…

All that the Father has given Him will come to Him, and He promised to lose none but raise them up on the last day for this is the will of God for Him so He cannot fail.

The 1000 stands for completeness, all the saints will be gathered before the end of the age. Christ will see of the travail of His soul and be satisfied. All the redeemed, His purchased procession, will be claimed and gathered into the kingdom.

You can have your Arminianism and Scofieldism; I want nothing to do will them because they diminish the glory and perfection of Christ.

Interpretations aside

The scripture you posted was a comfort and encouragement for me today- thank you!

'Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began...'
