Don't Call it Xenophobia and Don't Call it Racism

Josue

Very good post. Gets to the hart of the issue, and shows that it's about the rule of law question, not race in any way.

Ever See the Movie "El Norte"?

Josue - Before condemning all illegal immigrants, I would suggest that you watch the classic foreign film "El Norte" first. Identify yourself with the main characters in this very realistic film about what it is like to cross over from Guatemala to America illegally - the rats in the underground sewers biting a brother and sister, and, ultimately, infecting the sweet and innocent sister, who dies at the end of the film.

I heard Dennis Prager say, not that terribly long ago, that if he lived in Mexico, and knew that this great country called America was right across the border, he would also try to cross over illegally. I agree with Dennis.

Your post praises the laws made by men. Jesus condemned many of these types of laws. He said that Mercy is greater than Justice. Where's the mercy in any of your statement? - "My advice: If you are an illegal immigrant in the US, start planning a way to go back home. Get some savings, and work up a business plan to start a small business back home." Frankly, I find your comments to be disturbing, especially since they come from someone of the Latino race, and who also was a missionary!

Also, I have waited 3 1/2 days now for you to answer my emails about the ongoing technical problems with my blog. I see that you have plenty of time to write and publish new posts, so I would appreciate it if you would also take a courteous few moments to respond.

Sincerely,

Susan Baldwin

I have written many posts about tolerance, especially toward Mormons, (I am not a Mormon), and the fact that racism and bigotry in any form, no matter how cleverly disguised, are wrong. Hard Stance

Josue,

As a Hispanic, aren't you more obligated to take a softer stance on immigration? Instead of assuming an untenable and impractical position of rounding up illegals, that we should consider a strong border control?

When our countries are trashed

I am an illegal alien living here since 1993. When I came here I knew the consequences, and still I tried. I got deported and I do not complain, these are the laws, and they are in every country. Mexico laws on immigration are very strong and they enforce the laws on the south border. Unfortunately most Mexicans and Latinos have double standards, do not apply our laws upon us. Our mentality says: "They laws are created to be broken".
Dear Conservative Wordsmith:If the USA wants to remain a super power the laws have to be obey. I do understand that "utopia worlds" are beautiful and specially when it come from the words of Jesus. The ideal will be peace and order, but reality differs from the "utopia worlds". We have to deal with reality.
Immigration into the USA is out of control period!
Latinization in the USA will make this country look like Tijuana.
If you are a true American, then protect your country, allow only people that bring positive things, education, money, jobs.
