The thing that keeps being missed is the Issue of tips being a part of the minimum wage. there are alot of tip jobs that could be effected in a big way. I make twice the minimum wage + tips. my tips are considered part of my overall salary. we keep trac of them and I pay taxes on them. We are a single income family of 5 if the tips are then considered not just part of but my primary income it would cut my overall income by $1500.00 or more a month. I could not provide for my family. I understand that the restraunt industry cannot afford to pay their employees and stay open. How hard would it be to stay open without servers?
