So you removed all the post
since 2007?
I know how you feel honestly Sandra. But we're being validated every day.
Just today, there's a column in Townhall about Bush saving a million people from AIDS and the comments are down to just one who complain about Bush's lack of use of the veto bill.
I have kept my blog mainly because I don't get Prager, Medved, Hewitt and such live and I use it to rant.
But I made a promise. There WILL come a day when I WILL write a long piece on the idiots that claim to be the base of the Republican party but had not the decency (honesty or principles) to call themselves Republicans.
It will be right after we have another 9/11 and I will lay the blame right at the feet of each blogger...I will then comment on their blogs and ask them...so tell me again how bashing the leader who kept us safe for 8 years was the best thing to do for this nation?

During NO Republican adminstration
EVER has the country not moved further from the Constitution. Republicans today are to the left of JFK . . . and he was a liberal-fascist.
Unless true conservatives take over the USA, probably in a coup, this country may be toast before there's another prexy election. Even if true-conservatives do take over then, it may well be way too late to save.

Take a break and re-consider
Sandra I hope you will re-consider your position. It appears to me that you get it. You recognize that it will not be enough just to win back control of this Country. Conservatives, through the Republican party must have a plan to move forward and actually improve things. Merely throwing out the Dems and gloating won't cut it for any of us. As a right leaning Libertarian, I couldn't vote for either major party candidate, but came to realize that change must come through the one which is most closely aligned with my beliefs. We gotta be ready to call BS when we see it on either side, and we've got to keep up the good fight. Too much depends upon it. My kids don't know it now, but I am fighting like crazy for their future and I need all the help I can get from people like you.

I took down all but a handful of posts because I don't want to be tempted to come back. I am completely disillusioned with the political situation, and the Democrats are laying the foundation to be the majority party for many years to come.
The many hours of blogging were completely useless and very time consuming. People with our point of view don't get much readership here at TH. I got into the top ten blogs for about two weeks recently. To get there, it took writing about 6 - 10 posts a day. It's not worth the time and it's impossible to build a readership these days if you are not anti GOP.
My aunt said that conservatives have been trying to control the Republican party going way back. She remembers when Goldwater was nominated and says that everyone knew he couldn't win. Well, now they have control of the conservative media and we have seen where that has led us - into the wilderness probably for another 40 years.
I'm afraid you are right. It will take something much worse than 9/11 to wake this country wake up. Meanwhile I'm tired of being disappointed when we gain ground and then lose it all.
You have my email address, so please stay in touch.

Keep up the good fight. I'll check out your link. I hope that there will be a future for your kids. I'm tired, and just don't see anything changing for a long time.
Thanks for your encouragement and remarks.

In America we do not take over the government in a "coup" as you state. We win elections in order to govern.
If you wanted to save America you should have remained in the Republican Party.

So Sandra, that's it? Your gonna...
...quit?
You recognize there's a problem in the GOP but what, you expected it to work itself through by hugs and flowers?
You ever rebuilt a house? Well let me tell you it ain't a pretty process and you don't get everything you thought you would cause the wife had her own ideas. You tear all number of things down and it looks more like a never ending demolition project at times than it resembles progress. If you throw up your hands and say "I quit" then someone else finishes the work without you and you're stuck with whatever they felt like giving you.
You want to walk, that's up to you but don't complain nobody will listen to you if you don't make the effort to be heard.

Thanks for your thoughts are your faithful readership.
I'm just a little tired, that's all. I've been here since 2006, and have had the same arguments over and over again. There are those intent on destroying the GOP, and they don't listen to any other side of the argument.
You have to win elections in order to govern. Elections have consequences.
Also, I'm concerned about retaliation from the left for my opinions about the left. I'm not anonymous as most here are.

It may be that you have persuaded someone who did not leave a post declaring that reality. For my part, I appreciate your efforts and I do understand your concerns about retaliation from the left.

(I personally try to remain anonymous more because I want people to interact with my ideas rather than diving into ad hominem blustering.) Recent uprisings at Townhall meetings and the continued growth of homeschooling lead me to have some hope. Regardless...

It's probably a good idea to take a break...but I have a feeling you'll be back in the fight!
It does get old debating the same stuff sometimes, but there are people who feel the same way you do out there and you are speaking for them when you write.
So, so long for now.

So Long
Nothing like taking your ball and going home.
Is there a difference between what what we think we want and the Republican Party really wants? I don't think so. The Republicans lost their way and if you want them to regain what they once stood for, we have to keep them from heading for the center.
We are in our biggest fight, ever, to retain our Constitional rights, and we need people like you, Republicans, and Conservatives like me. In the long run there will be just two parties but the Republicans will be what they should be, not what they are. We have to continue to fight, so bring back that ball and a big bat along with.

Wanting to cry
I spent nearly an hour feeling so great...people starting to "get it"...callers were saying how much they miss Bush, many Independents were coming back...and even some dye in the wool Dems were looking toward 2010 as a GOP clean up.
Then some idiot came back with Republican bashing, Mexicans racking up the health care costs and how GWB's no child left behind (which made teachers accountable) and drug for the elderly (the LARGEST and strongest voting block) was right up there with Obama's TRILLION dollar spending.
And I thought of you Sandra.
And wanted to cry. I get so tired too.

Your posts will be missed. I too have been discouraged etc BUT there IS hopw as this week's Demos in DC and elsewhere show and eventhough we havent the votes in Congress Conservatives, by speaking out loudly and in large numbers have managed to stop the Public option at least for now. 2010 is not far off and WE WILL win! Rest up all are needed for the fight and your voice is important!
